Day 1 – Arrival and First Steps in Georgia

The first day of Youth Voice Matters marked the beginning of an international youth exchange bringing together young people, youth leaders, youth workers, and volunteers from Slovakia, Georgia, Poland, and Ukraine. Participants arrived in Georgia with curiosity, excitement, and the shared expectation of becoming part of a meaningful learning journey.

The project takes place at Kapiloni Training Center in Misaktsieli, near Mtskheta, Georgia. After travelling from different countries and backgrounds, participants slowly began to settle into the venue, meet each other, and become familiar with the place that would become their temporary home for the following days.

Although the first day was mainly dedicated to arrivals, registration, accommodation, and orientation, it already carried the spirit of the whole project. Informal conversations, first introductions, and small moments of connection helped create a welcoming atmosphere. Participants started discovering not only the training center, but also each other’s cultures, stories, and expectations.

Youth Voice Matters aims to empower young people to actively engage in promoting and defending human rights, EU values, citizenship, rule of law, and democratic participation in their local communities. From the very first day, the project opened space for intercultural dialogue, cooperation, and mutual understanding.

The arrival day was therefore more than just a practical start. It was the first step into a shared experience focused on youth participation, active citizenship, and the belief that young people’s voices truly matter.

The project Youth Voice Matters is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme and the European Union, and administratively supported by the National Agency Erasmus+ Youth – NIVAM.
