YIC – Slovakia is an non-governmental organisation, based in village Čaňa, close to town Košice in Slovakia. The main focus f our organisation is Youth and Youth workers in Čaňa and close region of town Košice. Secondary target groups are youth leaders, youth workers, teachers and other personnel in the east Slovakia region. The organization cooperates with several other NGOs and institutions on a local level and is building a international network for future cooperation, in frames of non-formal education.
Our main target group is young people, disadvantaged youth (youth with fewer opportunities), NEET, young leaders with different obstacles (social, economic, cultural, education and others).
The secondary target group is youth leaders and youth workers, professionals in formal education field such as Teachers, Social Pedagogies, Psychologists, and others.
Aims
- Promote Non-formal Education in east Slovakia
- Empowerment of youth leaders and workers for active participation and citizenship
- Promote Equality and Tolerance
- Promote Democracy values and principles
- Raise awareness of young people for intercultural understanding and solidarity in society
- Foster young people’s skills and knowledge through education. With using experimental learning tools.
- Promote physical and health and wellbeing
- Promote outdoor education and sport
- Promote volunteering in Slovakia and abroad
We are focused on creating a high-quality activities (seminars, youth exchanges, study visits, conferences). Members of YIC – Slovakia have a experience with youth coaching, training youth, young leaders, youth workers, and representatives of various civil society or governmental organizations.
Topics of our activities are connected with areas such as project management, organizational capacity building, international cooperation, high-quality youth work development, youth participation, intercultural learning, and other relevant topics.
Our acitivities and experiences
Members of the organization have experience with organizing a variety of local and international events (in the frames of YIA, Erasmus+, and other educational programs).
The main target group are young people from various cultural, religious & social backgrounds.
YIC – Slovakia is also an open platform for young people to use all organizational resources to create, plan and implement their own activities.
We are closely cooperating with RMKK – Youth council of Kosice region and all their member organizations.
We want to motivate young people to become youth leaders and policy-makers on a local and regional level. To meet these objectives we have an experienced team, who always provides educational input for youth meetings and discussions about different active topics.
In our team are people who are acting as a trainers in the youth field and have experience with programs such as Erasmus+, European solidarity corps and The Duke of Edinburgh’s international award.
Also, we have members who are active as a coach in the European solidarity corps pool in Slovakia.
Our organization has also a good network of cooperating professionals in the field of non-formal learning and international cooperation in Slovakia and internationally.

Martin works as a project manager in VÚDPaP - Research Institute of Child Psychology and Pathopsychology in Slovakia, his office is based in Košice.

Tomáš Peľak
He also created and cooperated on two local projects funded by European Solidarity Corps - solidarity project in 2019-2020 and 2021-2022.
Has a good experience with project management and leading youth groups.
Has experience in the international field, participated on several youth exchanges and seminars in Slovakia, Slovenia, Italy, Marocco, Germany and other.
