The fifth day of Green Dream took place mainly outside the training room. Participants joined a full-day excursion to a national park, where they had the opportunity to experience nature protection directly in the field.
The excursion showed why protected areas are important and how they are connected to biodiversity, water, forests, landscapes, and the lives of local communities. Participants observed nature, discussed its protection, and reflected on how national parks can support not only nature itself, but also environmental education.
One of the greatest added values of the day was connecting the previous workshops with a real natural environment. Topics such as water, trees, climate change, bees, and responsible behaviour in nature were no longer only concepts from discussions, but something participants could see around them.
After returning, there was time to rest and spend the evening together in Kosice. This day strengthened relationships within the group and showed that learning can be especially powerful when it takes place outside a traditional classroom.
Day 5 was a day of experience, observation, and the realisation that protecting nature begins with truly getting to know it.
